Training Courses Offered at the Sabie Valley BMW Rider Academy

The Introduction to Adventure Riding Course is a level 1theory and riding course that is aimed at the rider that is new to off-road motorcycling. The course covers the principles theories of off-road riding and also the basic skills riding exercises such as body position, vision, balance, use of controls and emergency braking. This offers the rider the skills to enjoy off-road riding and to cope with emergency situations with more confidence.

The Weekend Adventure Riding Course caters for riders that have completed the Introduction course. Some of the exercises that are presented on the Introduction course are utilised again but in more difficult terrain. Long climbs & descents, ruts, recovery on a slope and downhill braking are some of the exercises that make up this level 2 course. Riders that have completed this course will be better prepared to tackle off-road rides and overland trips.

   o Intermediate off-road riding course

The Sabie Valley BMW Motorrad Rider Academy is situated in Mpumalanga, between the towns of Hazyview and Sabie on the famous “22” road, at The Windmill Wine Shop & Cottages.

Thomas Böhm is the operations instructor at this scenic training venue and will be offering the Xplore Academy courses that are aimed at Adventure motorcyclists and accommodates from novice to the more experienced riders.

The Windmill Wine Shop & Cottages also boasts a light lunch, coffees and 4 star accommodation that is ideal for bikers that want to ride some of the best riding roads in the country, tar & dirt.
